And… we are off!!!
The possibility of this trip was first raised in October 2017, almost a year ago! The fact that this pilgrimage is finally materialising and we are literally about to jet off, we have to give thanks to God. Fitting that this year is also Landings Singapore 10th anniversary, with Grace and Gratitude, we pilgrims areContinue reading “And… we are off!!!”
Advent Teaches Us the Virtue of Patience
These rainbows to me mirror the Advent themes of Hope, Peace, Joy, and Love. The themes nicely sum up to me what Christ’s coming is all about; it gives me great comfort, and is what I can hold on to as pillars in my life.
What Advent means to me
We desire to walk with one another this Advent, sharing hope, peace, joy and love of the season. Landings will share a series of what this personally means to some of us.
Edris
“One Sunday, I told my mum – the person I respect the most in my life and whom I always listen to: “This is the last Sunday I’m coming to Church with you.” Even though I attended Mass, Jesus wasn’t in my life and I couldn’t be less bothered by that. I was working likeContinue reading “Edris”

“I left the Church when I started work. That was a stressful time and it was easy to choose enjoying my weekends over keeping a relationship with a God I didn’t connect with. 10 years went by, with just an occasional Christmas Mass attendance from me. “Eight years ago, I was at Old St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco and chanced upon a Landings brochure. Immediately I was amazed at how something so obviously needed was missing in Singapore. So I brought it here. I understand the Landings mission because I had been away from Church before – when the worldContinue reading “Tony”
Augustine
“I didn’t feel guilty at all when I eventually left the Church and stayed out for 10 years, because I really didn’t have any sense of God existing at all. To me, the whole faith thing was a fairytale people tell themselves to feel better. I accept that bad things happen – that’s life. IContinue reading “Augustine”

“When my friend first talked to me about joining Landings, I said no. It didn’t fit into my work schedule. A part of me missed the Latin Mass that I used to attend but I didn’t enjoy planning my weekends around Mass. But God had started calling. Eventually, I left my job to backpack. OnContinue reading “Therese”
